Set Apart By God, So That The Ordinary Can Be Extraordinary

God has called all of us to do something special. He calls us to follow different paths. Have you heard the whisper of God in your heart to do that special “something”? Listen closely. God speaks in your heart. He says, as he called his apostles, “Come Follow Me!” The Sisters of the Most Holy Trinity, very simply, help people to find God and to be closer to him. What a privilege that is! We need you to help us do that. Contact Sr. Phyllis Ann to ask for more information.

Discernment? Lord is That Me You Are Calling?

What exactly is discernment? It can mean many things. In religious life, it is the process of making a choice to enter a religious community or not. There are a few

steps to that process.

The first step is establishing a relationship with God. How do you know someone if you don’t talk to them? Establish sometime during the day that you speak to God in prayer. Yes, that is God speaking to you. Scripture passages to help: Gen. 12:1-4, Ex.3:4-6, 1 Samuel 3:1-10, 1 Samuel 16: 12-13, Lk. 1:26-28, Lk.12: 22-26 LISTEN

Seek out a competent spiritual guide or director and share your relationship with God with that person. It helps if the person is a priest or religious.  Be totally honest, an objective point of view will keep you on the right track. LISTEN, AGAIN AND ACT upon the advice given.  (KEEP PRAYING)

Identify some communities to which you are attracted. Reach out to them, call them and visit. You can find them on your diocesan vocation website. There are many communities out there. Don’t limit yourself to only those communities who are most known.     LISTEN, PRAY, ACT

FINALLY, DO NOT BE AFRAID! The above pointers are by no means the only way to discern. They just organize the process and help you to stop spinning your wheels.

I belong to the Order of the Sisters of the Most Holy Trinity. We will pray for you and even have a spot for you to come visit or stay if you like. May God guide you on your journey!
